PRIMARY ELEVATION

Means the elevation(s) of a building that contribute to the architectural character of the streetscape and neighbourhood. The primary elevation is the residential unit’s most prominent and detailed elevation. Unless otherwise noted below, the primary elevation is the elevation that fronts to the street (or other formed public access). In the case of corner sites all elevations that front a street will be considered as primary elevations. The primary elevation consists of all those features that contribute to the form and style of the building, including but not limited to: materials, detailing, window/wall ratios, architectural features and elements such as bay windows, verandahs, porches, turrets or steps.
